Scottish EDGE prepares to invest in high potential businesses in 23rd round of awards
Scottish EDGE is set to invest a further £1.5 million in businesses with high growth potential as the 23rd round of awards invites 24 multi-sector finalists to pitch their ideas on the 9th and 10th May.
Having already invested over £25 million in over 600 businesses, awards this round include Scale EDGE, aimed at scaling businesses, and Creative EDGE, aimed a Creative Sector businesses, backed by Royal Bank of Scotland and Creative UK respectively.
Supported by The Hunter Foundation, the Royal Bank of Scotland, the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise, the EDGE awards have a key role to play in facilitating the nation’s economic growth.
Circular and digital innovation will also be amplified amongst this year’s finalists, with Co2 supply from carbon capture and copper refinement from scrap, to AI-driven tax planning and a peptide delivery refinement all represented on the list.
The 24 finalists will pitch to a panel of business heavyweights, featuring Dr Hina Khan of Space Scotland, experienced Non-exec Directors Jim Conning, Dr Shonaig Macpherson CBE and Poonam Malik, Fraser Lusty of Equity Gap, Laura Davidson of Tag Digital, Kevin Havelock of Royal Bank of Scotland, and Ben Panter of Blackford Analysis.
Day 1 of the event will be hosted by Napier University Business School and will not be open to the public to attend. Day 2 will take place at the Royal Bank of `Scotland Conference Centre, Edinburgh and will consist of the usual mix of pitching, networking, competitions, and a fireside chat.
